Kids say the darnedest things

I have been working very hard at getting the kids to bed on time lately, because I have started Zumba classes at night! Sometimes the kids just aren't tired yet. Like tonight I stood between the two littlest kids' bedrooms, and had to have read for almost an hour, and Whyett, and Payton just couldn't settle down! So then I turned all the lights off to try and set the mood a little better. Still didn't work. Payton has a nightlight plugged into the wall right by his toddler bed, and was starring into it when suddenly he sat straight up, and started rattling on about some sort of powers???? On a normal basis its hard to comprehend what he is saying, because of his speech delays. What I finally figured out was that the eye that was starring at the light the most (because he was laying on his side the other eye was covered by his pillow) had been flashed by the night light. You know how when you get flashed by a camera you can't see for a few seconds? So what he was saying was that his eye had run out of powers. I told him that he needed to rest his body, because it was tired. So he says, " I go to sleep, and my powers will come back to my eye?". What else could I do...I told him yes, at this point I will use just about anything to get them to sleep. He laid down, and went right to sleep.
